Not medical advice

Training plans and coaching content in Sparkies are general guidance for recreational runners, not medical advice. You know your body and your history; we do not. Check with your doctor before starting a training program, especially if you have any medical condition, and stop if something hurts or feels wrong. You train at your own risk.

Your account

You need to be at least 13 to use Sparkies, and if you are under 18 a parent or guardian should be across it and agrees to these terms on your behalf. Keep your login to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account. Give us accurate details and keep them current.

Memberships and payments

• The free tier is free, forever, no card required.
• Training plan blueprints are one-off purchases: pay once, keep access.
• The Clubhouse is a subscription (currently $4.95 AUD per month) billed by Stripe until you cancel. New monthly memberships start with a 7 day free trial: a card is taken up front and the first payment is on day 8, so cancelling before then costs nothing. Members who joined at an earlier price keep that price for as long as they stay subscribed. Cancel anytime from your account settings (Manage subscription); you keep access until the end of the paid period, and there are no lock-ins.
• Prices are shown at checkout and can change for future purchases, never retroactively for a period you have already paid.
• If a purchase has genuinely let you down, email ben@sparkies.app and a human will sort it. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or equivalent consumer laws where you live.

Community rules

• Be decent. No abuse, harassment, hate, spam or scams, in the feed, comments, chats or anywhere else.
• You own the content you post. By posting it you give us permission to display it within Sparkies so the product can work. Do not post content you have no right to share.
• We can remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules or make the club worse for everyone. We will be fair about it.
• Block and report tools are built in; use them, and we review reports.

Points, tribes and prizes

• Points reward consistency. The earning rules are published in the app and may be tuned over time to keep the game fair; changes apply from when they are announced.
• Log honestly. Entries that are clearly not genuine can be excluded, and gaming the system can forfeit points or prizes.
• Prizes are as described at the time of the giveaway, are not exchangeable for cash, and physical prizes ship to the address you provide. Race events have their own race terms.
• On scoring and awards, the organiser's decision is final. It is a community game, be a good sport.

Third-party services

Sparkies works with third-party services: Stripe for payments, Strava if you choose to connect it, and infrastructure providers listed in our privacy policy. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, those third-party service providers disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages arising from your use of Sparkies. Strava is a trademark of Strava, Inc.; Sparkies is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Strava.

Our stuff, your stuff

The Sparkies name, brand, app, plans and content are ours; these terms do not give you a licence to copy or resell them. Your training data and content remain yours, and you can export or delete them as described in the privacy policy.

Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Sparkies fast and reliable, but it is provided as-is and we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.

Ending things

You can delete your account anytime in settings. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If Sparkies ever winds down, we will give you notice and a way to export your data.

Changes and the boring bits

We may update these terms; meaningful changes get announced in the app and continued use means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
